About Dirk Copland

Experienced multimedia professional with a demonstrated history of working in the broadcast media industry. Skilled in Management, Training, Social Media, Logistics Management, and Editing. Strong media and communication professional with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) focused in Film and Media from Birkbeck College, University of London. 

Below are some of the projects which have been selected to represent my educational journey via the Learning Design and Technology Master's Degree program.  This journey has seen me explore learning theories as well as navigate new technologies which I hope to implement as I continue my exploration into this field.


Below are three projects which resonated with me throughout my time within the Learning Design and Technology program at Penn State University.  With a mixture of solo and collabrative work I brought my obsession for all things multimedia and added my new and improved learning philosophy into these engaging and entertaining videos. 

My latest projects

This video project was a collaborative effort as I joined forced with Manny Diaz and Danielle Gibbs.  I took the creative lead with the video creation process, producing the video, script and storyboard.  This allowed for my colleague to focus on resource finding and adding to the dialogue of the video. I found this project to be insightful  as it provided different points of view for the same task. (1).gif

This was my first class in my first semester and provided me a great opportunity to explore my video creation skills exploring my own learning philosophy.  Throughout the semester I explored learning delivery methods, and technologies used in educational environments as well as the obstacles educators have to navigate while creating learning materials in digital spaces.

This video was my final project within the lass of LDT 550 Design Studio.  The activity allowed me to explore a subject matter close to my heart however approach it as a learning tool for newcomers to the scene.  Meanwhile I decided to approach the project with engagement being one of the key elements as I deployed an interactive element to the final instructional video.
